Absorption Costing

Costing technique under which all costs incurred to manufacture a product are assigned to manufactured units i.e. both fixed and variable cost. For the same reason it is also called total costing system or full costing system.

Absorption costing system is widely used by almost every financial reporting framework to prepare general purpose financial statements.
