Syntax of Average formula:
=AVERAGE(number1,[number2], …)
In words:
=Take average of (this number, this number also, and any other number mentioned)
Examples of Excel Average formula:
=AVERAGE(6,7,8) will result in 7
=AVERAGE(A3:B7) will determine the average of all the numeric values within the range A3:B7
