UPDATE 1-Sinopec to reboot Tianjin plant, delay new unitsPublished: 09 Feb 2009 02:01:39 PSTBEIJING, Feb 9 - Top Asian refiner Sinopec <0386.HK> will restart a 110,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Tianjin refinery in March after a three-month shutdown triggered by concern about excess supplies in the domestic fuel market, a source said on Monday."But how much crude oil will be processed each month has yet to be decided," said the source familiar with the plant’s operations. The plant in northern Tianjin city did not reopen business in November after completing regular repairs because Sinopec was concerned about a domestic market surplus.China’s fuel market quickly built up excess supply after the Beijing Olympics last year as record imports and high throughput coupled with slowing demand as the global economic slowdown took hold. But with hopes increasing for an early economic recovery, state oil firms planned to rev up operations, with China’s top dozen plants set to raise February crude runs by 5 percent from January, the first increase since November. [nPEK95650]Tianjin, however, will postpone the startup of a new crude oil unit with capacity of 200,000 bpd, an ethylene unit of 1 million tonnes per year (tpy) and others until mid-November, two months later than earlier plans, due to delays in equipment deliveries, the source said."Some overseas suppliers have had difficulty to deliver equipment on time as a result of the financial crisis," he said.Construction of the new crude oil unit is now expected to be completed in late June and the ethylene unit two or three months later after that.被リンク 深圳装饰 工作流 クレジットカード 現金化 比較 转轮除湿机 car sun shades 风机箱 金 -

China’s car exports down 62.06% in Q1Published: 13 Apr 2009 23:31:55 PSTApr. 14, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China exported 61,000 automobiles in the first quarter of 2009, indicating a plunge of 62.06% year on year, according to statistics unveiled by the Chinese Auto Industry Association. Auto exports in the first two months of 2009 fell 62.87% from a year earlier to 41,900 units, while export revenue in the same period declined 49.83% year on year to US$708 million. Exports of sedans suffered the sharpest decline, falling 71.03% to 11,300 units. Zhu Yiping, the assistant secretary-general of the association, said the sharp fall is a big blow to China’s auto industry, and that the relevant government department should focus attention on promoting the auto industry’s overseas development.Car imports also suffered a downturn in January and February, decreasing 27.88% to US$3.33 billion. However, car production and sales in March amounted to 1.09 million units and 1.11 units, up 35.59% and 34.10% respectively from the previous year. China signs note-purchase deal with IMFPublished: 03 Sep 2009 19:02:01 PSTBy Gao Xiaohui The International Monetary Fund (IMF) signed its first note-purchase agreement with China late Wednesday, under which China would buy up to $50 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) in IMF notes. The agreement was signed between the Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, Yi Gang, and the Managing Director of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, following the endorsement by the IMF Executive Board on July 1 of the fund’s framework for the first time to issue notes to its 186 members, the IMF said Wednesday in a statement at its website. As announced in its scheme, the bond denominated with SDR will mature in five years, and pay dividends quarterly to lenders, the Xinhua News Agency said.As early as June, China expressed its intention to invest in IMF notes. The agreement now offers China a safe investment instrument, the IMF said.China has expressed its willingness to push the IMF to expand money sources and its support for the fund to shoulder more supervisory duties in developing a fair system for international reserve currencies, Ding Yifang, a researcher with China’s Development Research Center of the State Council, told the Global Times yesterday. "China hopes to see the SDR function with stronger currency roles," Ding added.Apart from China, three other countries making up the BRIC – Brazil, Russia and India – are also expected to negotiate their bond purchases with the IMF, in a drive to seek greater representation in the body.Compared with other BRIC countries, the $50 billion deal is relatively large, said Zhang Xinfa, an analyst with China’s Galaxy Securities, adding that the purchases will provide additional sources of money to the IMF, as liquidity support to raise members’ ability to weather the credit crunch. Most international organizations are short of money, therefore China’s purchase now helps the IMF to sustain the crisis, which also reflects the increasing role China plays in the organization, according to Feng Pengcheng, associate professor at the University of International Business and Economics. However, with China’s over $2 trillion foreign reserves, the $50 billion is not a large sum, Ding noted."But China does need to diversify its foreign reserves by investing in the international body, in which China at least has more rights than in US treasury bonds."As for the IMF, the bonds are part of a wider effort to seek $500 billion in new funding to help countries combat the global financial crisis.Despite the bond purchases, the replacement of the US dollar with the SDR has a long way to go, and it needs concerted coordination and support from a majority of countries, Ding pointed out. Kiekert: clever innovations and cost-saving solutions for ChinaPublished: 13 May 2009 23:31:21 PSTKieker AG, supplier of automobiles locking systems, presents its latest innovations and full product line for side door latches at the 2009 Auto Shanghai. This is Kiekert’s debut in the worlds’ fastest growing market. Dr. Karl Krause, CEO of Kiekert AG told Gasgoo.com reporter that the company’s looking at bringing its clever innovations and cost-saving solutions to China. ”Our strategy is not just setting up a low-cost manufacturing base but rather develop the market and be part of the market,” he said.Gasgoo.com: What did Kiekert bring to this year’s Shanghai Auto Show?Dr. Karl Krause: We made our Chinese debut at the Auto Shanghai 2009, for which we unveiled a brand new demo car, a model packed with our innovative ideas including I-close, I-move, I-fold and I-access. This is the first time we have demonstrated Kiekert’s latest technologies in China on a demo car which was bought here and adjusted by Kikert’s local R&D team.Let me make some introduction: The i-close is our latest generation of integrated closing assistant for the mid-sized and compact classes. It can ensure the car doors being always completely and securely closed; the i-move is the electrical actuator for all side doors, the user with the flick of a switch can instruct it to close the door by drawing the opened vehicle door onto the car body; the i-fold is a push-button electrical release unit for rear seatbacks; the i-access is a keyless car entry system for drivers, whose benefits in comparison to the system currently available on the market are the significantly reduced system complexity, the elimination of additional assembly effort and lower price.Besides the demo car, we presented the production latch modules that are supplied to the VW group, PSA, Ford, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and many other global OEMs. We also showcased some entry-level solutions for the low-cost vehicle segment to meet the increasing demand from the emerging markets, for example, the side-door latch for Indian automaker Maruti-Suzuki, which will be put into mass production this year.Gasgoo.com: What’s Kiekert’s comparative advantage as there’re many other latch-makers in China and abroad?Dr. Karl Krause: Kiekert is regarded as the leader in the development and manufacture of side-door latches for the auto industry. We are the only multi-national supplier that specializes in latches, retaining a 19 percent market share in the global market-there’re only three latch-making suppliers owning more that 10 percent market share and the other two are Japanese players. Our entire endeavor is to achieve perfection of locking technology. Since 1925 when the first automobile side-door latch was innovated, Kiekert has developed and manufactured products for both premium vehicle segments and high-volume vehicle segments. We have over 750 active patents in locking system technology; many of the products and production process have become the industry benchmark. In the non-core areas, we’ll search for other leading suppliers to support and collaborate with us. The i-access system is an example-we combine Continental’s electronic expertise and Kiekert’s experience in the closing systems.Full Story弹簧 ショッピング枠現金化 キャバクラ バイト 工作流 panoramic elevator 自清洗过滤器 クレジットカード現金化 キャバクラ 大阪 bldc motor -

Paying Tribute to Teachers, Chinese Premier Sits in on Junior High ClassesPublished: 06 Sep 2009 18:09:49 PSTWhen the class began, Math teacher Xu Junjun announced that Premier Wen Jiabao was with them, the students turned round simultaneously and craned their necks and found Grandpa Wen, who greeted the marveling faces with a gentle smile.During the morning class that started 8:10, Wen was seen taking notes carefully. After the lesson, he sat with several students sharing his notes with them.He spent a total of four hours and five minutes till the music class ended with Class 5 of the 8th graders at Beijing No. 35 Middle School on Friday.”It’s a memorable experience and I felt as if I had traveled back to my childhood,” he said, ”I love you all.”Wen has been visiting teachers and students on every Teacher’s Day since 2003 when he took up the post. The 25th Teacher’s Day will fall on Thursday.”Sitting in on the class all the morning is my way of paying tribute to you teachers,” he explained his visit later in a meeting with the faculty in the afternoon. The meeting was attended by representatives of teachers from Beijing. The premier commented on the morning lessons one by one and offer his suggestions to the teachers.Wen said that education is a lofty and honorable cause because the fate of the nation depends on it.”The nation’s rise and fall rely on education, as only first-rate education can generate first-rate talents who in turn can build a first-rate nation,” Wen said.China currently has about 16 million people working in educational institutions, including 12 million teachers in middle and primary schools.Chinese teachers have made great contribution to the country’s education and modernization through their hard work to cultivate generations of talented people over the years, Wen said.”Anyone, no matter how successful they are, owes their growth to their teachers’ enlightenment and instruction, and thus should be a student forever before their teachers, ” he said.He also urged the teachers to be creative in improving their teaching skills, teaching contents and evaluation methods.”Teachers are not sculptors, but what you are crafting is the most valuable work of art,” Wen said.He called on the educators to teach with love, be dedicated to learning and set exemplary roles for students.”I felt quite warmed at heart after I watched the premier spend the whole morning attending lessons and use almost an hour to comment on each one,” said Zheng Xinrong, a professor with Beijing Normal University, China’s top institute for teachers.(Xinhua News Agency September 8, 2009)搅拌机 滤油机 风机 lithium polymer 港澳游 lithium batteries passenger elevator rta kitchen cabinets kitchen cabinets -

BOC’s profit climbs 14.42% in 2008Published: 24 Mar 2009 20:38:41 PSTMar. 25, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Bank of China (BOC)<601988><3988>, one of the country’s Big Four banks, saw its 2008 profit increase 14.42% year on year to RMB 64.36 billion (US$9.33 billion), according to the annual financial report it released on Tuesday.BOC, also the world’s third largest lender by market value, said the profit surge is an effect of continuously rising business revenue, strict control on operation costs and the reduction of the income tax rate.By the end of 2008, BOC’s total assets had increased 16.03% from a year earlier to RMB 6.95 trillion, while its liabilities totaled RMB 6.46 trillion, up 16.63% year on year. However, the lender’s net profit in the fourth quarter of 2008 shrank 59% to RMB 4.42 billion from RMB 10.77 billion in the same period of 2007, due to narrowing net interest margins and rising loan impairments, according to the report. The bank’s chairman, Li Lihui, said that neither Temasek nor Asian Development Bank will reduce their stakes in BOC in the first half of this year.Copyright © 2009 http://www.chinaknowledge.comSend feedback or comments to: [email protected] more news, financial weekly reports, business guides to China and other premium information, subscribe to China Knowledge today: To access our page on Bloomberg, type CKFI Related TopicsChina News芦荟 換金 Aloe vera Superannuation 現金化 比較 弹簧 上虞风机 门禁 acrylic sign holder -

Oil taxation may undergo reformsPublished: 26 Nov 2009 01:02:01 PSTThe way taxes are collected in China’s oil resource industry may be changed to a price-based system from the current one calculated by quantity, according to a report from China Business News (CBN) Thursday. The report also said that if based on the price of oil, the tax collection rate will be 3 percent to 5 percent. If calculated with a standard of 5 percent, and the price of the oil is $80 per barrel, the total amount of taxes could be as much as 6.5 times higher than that of the quantity-based tax collection, the report said.Currently, the taxes calculated for oil and gas are based on quantity. In July 2005 the tax rates for crude oil were raised from 14 yuan ($2.05) per ton to 30 yuan per ton, while the rates for natural gas ranged from 7 yuan per cubic meter to 15 yuan per cubic meter.Liu Bo, analyst with Sinolink Securities, said that the advantage of the quantity-based tax collection system is that the fiscal revenue from the taxes of the oil resources can remain stable even though there are fluctuations in the costs, prices and profits of oil and gas.Changing the way the tax is calculated would be a big adjustment, but some economists still believe that the taxes in the proposed price-based system would still be too low."From 2005 to 2008, international oil prices surged, but the taxes from the oil did not change a lot," Liu said. The output of crude oil in China in 2008 reached 190 million tons, and if calculated with the quantity-based system with the standard of 30 yuan per ton, the total amount of the oil taxes was 5.7 billion yuan. But if calculated based on prices, the average international price in 2008 was $100 per barrel, and the taxes could reach as much as 46.9 billion yuan ($6.9 billion), eight times more than the taxes collected based on quantity."The system of ’price-based collection’ is a good way to increase the fiscal revenue of the country," analyst Qiu Xiaofeng from China Merchant Securities said.Analysts also pointed out that taxes calculated based on price may affect the oil producers’ profits. This proposal was brought up before, as early as 2007 by a former official from the Ministry of Finance. But issues such as what the tax rates would be and when it would start were not determined. Industry analysts believe that starting from next year may be a good time to start the new tax collection system, according to the CBN report. The central government has not confirmed it will adopt the proposed tax collection system.
