Can we sit T5 T6 and T7 as CBE papers under transitional arrangement?

As CAT qualification is under a transition and all the CAT students will be transferred to new suit of qualifications Foundations in Accountancy FIA by ACCA, for this ACCA has arranged transitional arrangements for FIA students, MSER students and existing CAT students.

Because of this transition existing CAT students are offered special option that they can sit their T5 T6 and T7 exams as computer based exams and the name given to them is TT5, TT6 and TT7.

An important point here to understand is that syllabi and paper pattern on normal papers and transitional papers are different. For example for T5 the syllabus is still the same old T5 syllabus as it was in December 2010 and the paper patter is also same as it was in December 2010 and the exam will be paper based. However, for TT5 the syllabus is of ACCA F1 and the paper patter is also similar to F1 exam. Also the exam for TT5 will in CBE format.

Thus, if students want to appear in paper based format, just like they did in December 2010, then they should go for T5, T6 and T7 and if they want to appear in CBE format exams they should go for Tt5, TT6 and TT7.

Lastly, the option for CBE format papers i.e. TT5, TT6 and TT7 is available until November 2011. And even after November, 2011 but by December 2011 examinations will be under FIA scheme and thus the papers will be under proper FIA scheme. However, paper based exams i.e. normal T5, T6 and T7 will see their last session in June 2011.
